Casa Uvita was one of the first villas in the Uvita area, and Michelle has been hosting travelers here for years with the kind of warmth and generosity that's genuinely rare. We loved her so much during our stay that we invited her to join us at our second Airbnb in Uvita, which tells you everything.
She took us to a spot up the mountain where someone baked us fresh bread straight from the oven. She arranged access to a private beach that we never would have found on our own. This is not a host who hands you the keys and disappears. She is fully invested in making your trip special, and it shows.
The villa itself is stunning. Every room has floor to ceiling windows with forest and ocean views, and common sightings from the property include howler monkeys, sloths, toucans, and parrots. This is not marketing language, you will genuinely see all of these things. The 12-meter pool sits in a rainforest clearing with Pacific Ocean views beyond it, and is one of the most beautiful places I've ever had a morning coffee.
Uvita is a special corner of Costa Rica that hasn't been overdone yet. The Marino Ballena National Park beaches are ten minutes away, there are waterfalls to hike to, and the pace of life here is exactly what you want when you actually need to decompress. Casa Uvita is the perfect base for all of it, and Michelle is the perfect reason to stay an extra day.
