When I saw Aranxä on Airbnb, I planned an entire piece of our Guatemala trip around it because I so strongly wanted to stay at this villa. Located on a black sand beach in the small surfing town of El Paredón, this 3-bedroom eco-villa has a pool overlooking the ocean and an open-air style of stay. In an effort to preserve energy in this small coastal town, the villa opted against ACs, but with the ocean breeze and a few fans, you won’t even notice. This is the perfect surfer’s or beach lover’s paradise.

Fly into the Guatemala City airport (GUA) and then drive 3 hours (or hire a driver, that’s what we did!)

In the Guatemalan coastal beach town of El Paredón, you’ll find Aranxä, a 3-bedroom eco-villa right on the beach. You’ll wake up to the sound of the ocean before walking down the black sand beach watching surfers catch their morning waves. Nothing will put you more at peace.

This villa is within walking distance to everything you need in El Paredón — you can walk the beach down to the restaurants and bars or walk the back roads to more coffee shops, bakeries, cocktail bars, and places to eat. You’ll have the perfect long weekend at this beach retreat.
